In this third virtual visit, we're continuing our exploration of medieval Paris. This time, we're turning our attention to the neighborhood on the Left Bank known as the Latin Quarter, focusing on how it got its name and why it's so famous today.
We'll learn about how the Roman city of Lutetia was transformed into the heart of university life from the 10th to the 14th centuries, examine what student life looked like in the Middle Ages, and explore some of the Latin Quarter's most famous medieval buildings.
A reminder: the primary venue for this content is the stories feature on my Instagram page. All of the virtual visits will be saved in my story highlights. The purpose of the blog posts is to allow a greater audience (especially those without social media accounts) to benefit from the same content.
Now, let's dive into the Quartier Latin!
See you back here on Friday, March 27, when we'll take a larger view of Paris to understand how it was transformed over the centuries into the city that we know today.
