Let's Go for a Bike Ride: The Pays des Impressionistes

Updated: Sep 22, 2020

The weather is getting nice, Paris is finally in the "green zone," and people are getting back outside to explore their country anew. This past weekend, we took advantage of relaxed travel restrictions and a beautiful day to head out into the Yvelines department (about 20km from Paris) and explore the "Pays des Impressionistes." This is the area where many famous Impressionist painters including Monet, Renoir, and Sisley, among others, lived and worked. With the help of master guide Louise Sandager, we explored the region on electric bikes to discover the places that inspired these celebrated artists. This was truly one of the most fun days I've had in a long time. Thank you, Louise, for this lovely introduction to the area, its history, and its art!
